One wedding plan quite often overlooked is, the actual preparation of the to-do list itself. If the to-do-list is not organized and itemised properly with all your wedding desires then you can expect last minute hiccups. This part of planning your wedding is the conclusion to a beginning. To avoid any disappointment on your wedding day – prep friends and family in advance who have offered their services to help. To lighten the load you need to allot each person with a wedding task. You need to remind each helper after receiving their instructions that they need to report back with a progress report on how they are getting along with their assignment.

Wedding tasks may include ordering the wedding cake, ordering flowers from the florist, wedding cars to transport the bride, bridesmaid dresses, decorating the reception hall, arranging entertainment right down to what hymns are sung in the church for the marriage service. All of these are wedding plans which are considerably important so therefore the reason why you need to be kept updated.

Do you the betrothed find you’re self in a catch 22 situation i.e. worrying over having to ask others for help with your wedding arrangements who you feel may give you reason for concern in not fulfilling their duties, or, are you worried if you don’t the pressure will be to much for you going it alone.

Unnecessary stress before the wedding is not good. Okay so you need help, well, the first thing to do is pick family members and friends you can trust in carrying out your requests. The more intimate the friend is with you the better because, they know your traits, likes and dislikes so therefore if faced with a dilemma – having to make a decision on your behalf in your absence it will be in your best interest. One wedding plan is to sit down with your disciples and talk things through. You will be surprised how this will help ease pressure. Give them each a note pad to make their own wedding to-do-list on your behalf and then compare notes when the sitting is over. Once again there maybe surprises in store with what each individual sees fit for your wedding. Ask each friend before hand if they will be comfortable with the wedding task you have assigned to them. If you receive an indecisive reply then it gives you the opportunity to reallocate them with a different assignment, The more finer in detail of what you want from them will get you positive results.

Wedding plans normally entail Bridal Gown, headwear, bridesmaid dresses, wedding cars, booking the church, wedding cake, flowers, wedding rings, entertainment, photographer, food, wedding invitations, wedding speech, marriage vows and venue hall.

The list is endless but the most important of all wedding essentials not be forgotten is to have the groom at your side.

Father Wedding Toasts are normally a very important part of any wedding reception. Here is dad’s opportunity to shine!

Normally fathers experience wedding quite different from mothers. Moms are involved in all the stages of wedding planning. Moms are involved with the decorations and choosing attire. Normally all the fathers have to do is write checks and show up! One important thing though remains, dad normally has to give a speech and propose a toast.

These father wedding toasts can be done by the groom’s father and the bride’s father. It is customary for the groom’s father to go first and the bride’s father to close things out with the actual raising of the glass request to the guest and final toast.

Here are a few rules of etiquette to follow so no one is offended but everyone remains included and feels welcome:

1. Keep your speech relatively brief:

Keeping your speech short is very important. You don’t want to bore the guests or cut into the other person’s time. Be respectful of one another and keep the guests happy by keeping the speeches fairly brief.

2. Compliment each other or one another’s child:

You have to keep in mind that these people are family now. This provides an instant appreciation and respect.

3. Don’t try to one up another:

It is not a competition so do not act as if it is one. If the father of the groom says something it is entirely inappropriate for the father of the bride to try to “one up” him and try to appear better, or vice versa.

4. Give a combined speech:

This tip is for those who are already close to the new in laws. You can do a combined speech so that you can show your friendship. In this way you can both celebrate the union of your children with each other, and all your guests.

5. Read a poem together:

This may sound very sentimental but, you will be surprised at how much the guests enjoy it. Get together before the wedding and find a poem that represents how you feel about your children. Perhaps the poem can also be about how they feel about one another and their love. You can read it line for line back and forth or have one dad say the first half and have the other dad finish it. This is a beautiful way to present a father wedding toast and is really easy as well.

6. Plan your father wedding toast very carefully.

Make notes to use during your speech. Do not rely on your memory as it is very easy to forget under the stressful circumstances of giving the speech. It is also a very emotional moment, so do not leave anything to chance

7. Use jokes sparingly

If you do not know the new in laws very well, it is best to play it safe when it comes to using humor in your father wedding toasts. Make very sure you do not say anything that can offend.

Giving father wedding toasts is the privilege of the fathers at the wedding. Do not spoil the day for the happy couple as well as for your self.

8. Enjoy yourself and savor the moment.

This is one of the biggest days for your child. Relax and enjoy it and preserve the happy memories.

The most important part of a wedding is the official wedding ceremony.For many couples and their families the ceremony should reflect their dreams, expectations and values.

When the bride arrives at the ceremony in her white wedding dress, while the groom is waiting for her, the room is full of anticipation.

The etiquette of a traditional wedding is essential and should be followed.

When the couple wants to celebrate their wedding in a Christian way, they most likely will choose a church for the ceremony. In this case the groom has to wear a black suit and the bride an outstanding beautiful white wedding dress.

Today many couples decide to have a non-religious wedding ceremony. They want to get married by a family member or a friend, but they still want to follow tradition, then consider following:

A traditional wedding ceremony includes mostly following parts:

1.Opening words of the officiant

2.Entrance of the bride and groom accompanied with music

3.A poetry and wedding reading start (i.e. from the holy bible)

4.Attendants or witnesses sign the wedding papers

5.Wedding speeches and vows follow

Before the ceremony can start, there is a lot of planning involved. Pick up a pencil and write down your answers of following questions?

Your wedding reception is a time to celebrate the beautiful union of a husband and wife and also a time to celebrate that the stress of planning and organising a wedding is finally over!  While there is a suggested order of events that has been used traditionally, you can certainly choose to customise any portion of it to fit your personal circumstances, but keep in mind that this order has worked successfully for countless couples and is likely what your guests will expect.

Suggested order of events at the wedding reception:

1.      The guests arrive at the reception.  They may be there for a while before the wedding party arrives due to wedding photos being taken so you will want to have drinks and hors d’oeuvres ready for them to enjoy.

2.      The wedding party arrives.  You may wish to have a Toastmaster announce the Bride and Grooms arrival only or the entire wedding party.

3.      Toasts.  This time honored tradition allows kind words of encouragement to the Bride and Groom and sets the tone for the reception.  The Best Man offers a toast first and may be followed by the Maid of Honor and possibly other family members such as the Bride’s father, but you will want to consider how long to leave the guests waiting before dinner.

4.      Blessing of the meal.  The Toastmaster should ask everyone to take their seats for dinner before the blessing.  The blessing can be said by the Bride or Groom’s father or Grandfather or other special person that the Bride and Groom choose.

5.      Dinner is served.  Whether this will be a buffet or sit down meal, the Bride and Groom are served first followed by the wedding party and parents.  Then the Toastmaster may want to call tables up one by one if it is a buffet, otherwise the guests should be served at this time.

6.      The Bride and Groom’s first dance.  This is the time your song is set for life.  You will always remember this first dance together.

7.      The Father-Daughter dance and any other special dances.  The brides father gets his “last dance” with his little girl.  You may want to make this just the first part of a song and then the DJ can announce the wedding party as they enter the dance floor, or you can do two separate songs.  After this you want all the guests to join in on the dance floor as soon as possible so they don’t become lethargic after dinner and want to leave too early.

8.      The tossing of the bouquet and garter.  The bride tosses the bouquet over her shoulder to all the single ladies, keep in mind that single means “never married” and not divorced and the groom tosses the garter to all the single men.  The lucky guy who catches the garter then gets to place it on the leg of the lucky lady who caught the bouquet.

9.      Cutting of the cake.  Now the DJ can announce the cutting of the cake.  The Bride and Groom make the first cut together and then serve each other a piece with their fingers.  This is a great photo op.  Someone else, even the kitchen help, can then cut and serve the cake to the guests or place the slices on the dessert table for people to eat when they want or wrap up and take home.

10.  Dance until they drop.  Now guests should feel free to dance and party until their hearts content.  The Bride and Groom are free to dance or leave early if they have a plane to catch or just want to get the honeymoon started.

Once again, this order is just a suggestion because this is your big day and everything should be planned to make it feel right for you.  The most important thing is to just enjoy yourself and take some time to remember what is really important about this day—you got married.  Everything else is really secondary to that.
