Advice for the groom's speech?

In about five weeks I am going to marry, and suddenly I realized that I have not even started thinking about my speech yet. We I have a master of ceremonies, so I'm not too much sweat, but I wanted some advice from people here! So I know that most I have to do, thanks to the family of the bride, to congratulate the bride, say a couple of pieces of why I love her and then propose a toast to the bridesmaids and best men I think. So, uh, I can be funny in my speech, or should be serious? I'm not 100% serious bloke to be honest, so it may sound a little weird I be serious for the whole speech. Besides, no one heard or used any great anecdotes / jokes / lines in speeches that I can plagerise? Thanks! 10 points for the best answer, of course …

Off course it can be fun! I recommend it. It's a party after all. Start with a funny story about you two at a time that accidentally caught fire in the kitchen and ended up in McDonalds for a romantic dinner or something, follow up with a sincere comment about his new lovely wife. So, thanks to the guests for coming and thank anyone who helped make the wedding possible. Your speech should reflect your personality and since you seem a guy with a great sense of humor make it that way. While you stay away from politics, religion and sexual prowess, current or past you and the Bride you'll be fine. If any of you have been to jail or had an abortion I would go out too. I know these sound like no duh, but I regret to say that in reality had a boyfriend tell his girlfriend how lucky she was to have him since he used to be an easy start.

Or just a brief toast? How long should he speak for?

Typically, the only ones to actually make a speech from within the bridal party are the best man and the maid of honor. If the others in the bridal party do wish to make a speech, they can do so, but it’s not usually required.

If he wants to say something, the best thing to do is a quick recap of a memory of the bride and groom and wish them well – like “I remember when they were first dating, they fought so much I thought they hated each other! Good thing they didn’t though, because they look so much happier now. Best wishes to you guys, love you both!”

Something like that. I’m not exactly a speech writer. >^.^<

Who gives speeches at a wedding?

Okay, I'm busy planning my wedding. Here's the problem – I have not been to a wedding since I was 9 – and they made me go to bed before the reception. I do not know who is expected to make speeches at the reception! Am I, as the bride, which is expected to do so? Is my boyfriend expected that as the groom? My mother? My stepfather (my father is not invited)? Your mother? His father? My bridesmaids (one of them is 13 and one will be 14 and the third is 20. The youngest are two junior bridesmaids)? I think the best man who is supposed to? Furthermore, it assumes a speech at the trial? If so, who does that? Is there a number of speeches that are supposed to have?

Talk or Service Order?

A friend of mine and my sister died last year, the first anniversary of his death will be the week after my wedding. I wanted to do something special for him at the wedding. What do you think of this idea? I was thinking of mentioning it during speeches and asking all to have a dance in his honor (which was 25, music, fun loving and being loved and dance). Do you think this is a good idea or continue with normal and only mentioned in a speech or put an "in memory of" something in the order of service?

Ok so I am a bridesmaid at the wedding of my friends and my boyfriend is the best man. So what I want to know is for the toast that we both have to give is that it can be if we do one together? I, as are no good speeches doing and does anyone have any websites that I can find samples of the combined toast speeches? Thank you so much

I tried to google for you, but I found nothing, I think it is because it is not too common for people to make speeches combined, you can try to do is google examples of the Ministry of Health and BM speeches and put something together when both are up to speak, you should let the guests know that we're both going to make a toast together, maybe add a little humor of why (as we are committed, you're ready to share together .. or something like that ..) I mean, as at reception, after all the toasts are made, and after (or before) talks about the boyfriend.

The speeches are not obliged to anyone in reality. Traditionally the best man and father the bride gave speeches and no one else …. These days no one in the wedding party you want, you can give a speech (including the bride). It is entirely up to you.
